Rich Bone Broth Pan Sauce
Prep Time: 2 min | Cook Time: 10 min | Serves: 4 The Story Every great steak deserves a great sauce — and this one comes together in the same pan while your meat rests. NourishYourself bone broth is the secret weapon that turns simple pan drippings into something that tastes like it took hours. Ingredients 250ml NourishYourself Beef Bone Broth 2 shallots, finely minced 2 cloves garlic, minced ½ cup dry red wine 2 sprigs fresh thyme 2 tbsp cold butter, cubed Salt and pepper Pan drippings from your cooked steak or roast Method After removing your steak or roast from the pan, pour off excess fat leaving about 1 tbsp. Over medium-high heat, sauté shallots and garlic in the drippings until softened, about 2 minutes. Add wine and thyme. Scrape up all the browned bits from the bottom of the pan — that's pure flavour. Pour in bone broth. Simmer vigorously until reduced by half, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Whisk in cold butter one cube at a time until sauce is glossy and silky. Season to taste. Strain if desired. Spoon generously over your rested meat. Why This Works Cold butter whisked in off the heat — called "mounting" — gives the sauce its restaurant-quality gloss. The gelatin in bone broth helps it hold together beautifully.
